What do “normal people” think about sober people that go to Alcoholics Anonymous?

Just curious to know how people that don’t have a drinking problem view other people that do have a drinking problem, but are sober?

Have some thoughts on this, leave them below!

I think AA meetings can be a great environment for those that choose to remain sober! A helpful network of folks who share similar struggles can be very helpful for those that choose to abstain from alcohol for whatever reason.

oh oh! My neighbor was an Alcoholic, so she went to rehab. When she came home she brought her new “friend” (boyfriend) to meet her kids and husband. I think it’s messed up. She ruined her kids lifes! The “friend” has a child mollesting record!

    That’s just a fun little story :)

    Drinking is a problem?

Alcoholics are not “abnormal”. They are just like the rest of us, they just have an addiction they’re fighting on a daily basis. I admire them for fighting for their lives and not just giving in.

I’m an ex-alcoholic that does not attend AA. I found them to be rude, overbearing, dogmatic who can barely exist outside of the meetings. They told me that if I left, I would die; I found that a better option than becoming one of those people.

Instead, I found my own way and have been sober eight years in three weeks.
