I’m an alcoholic, I haven’t drank for nearly a year, and its great. I’m not sure why some call AA a cult, and if it is one, its a good cult because it helped me stop drinking.

@DawnBentley1 i’m not REALLY an alcoholic.. i just had a bad hangover and never wanted to drink again. I drink casually.. maybe get drunk once a month or so. not to the point where i black out though. But thanks for the wise words. I did learn my lesson about not drinking as much as i did

Or you could just go to AA, it’s on practcally every streetcorner, in the US anyway; costs NOTHING. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking (or using). It has helped millions recover and will be GLAD to help you too!

Whatever you do… Stay away from AA! It’s a religious cult that takes advantage of vulnerable drunks for the purpose of religious indoctrination. Save yourself the confusion and look for help elsewhere… If you decide that you want to quit. SMART Recovery has a few exercises on line that you can check out. Good luck!

I have been where you are. You could check out an AA meeting, and see if you are Alcholic. I did and I will be forever grateful. The Booze is just the tip of the iceberg, It’s what goes on in our minds, and how we make our lives hell for ourselves and our love ones, that makes us dependent on Alcohol. I wish you a good sober life, and hope you ,make it to AA.. I would be loing dead without it.
