@whamuniversal ok thanks for the info and videos. I will look up the manuals, but you answered most of my question already. I’m using 2 8ohms (as mains) and wanted to also use a third, possibly fourth as monitors (non parallel)all speakers non powered. I will look up the power mixer manual now, thanks again.
@evillemonkey — not much space to write here – the video has hopefully given you a good general understanding of interconnections so you can understand terminologies and understand what specifics apply to your particular gear. I highly recommend having the manuals to refer to, for both speakers and amp, and your question pertains to both. All situations will be somewhat unique, as gear has different specifications. 2 8-ohm speakers in parallel is generally ok. Beyond that gets more tricky.
@evillemonkey — Short answer is you should refer to the owner’s manuals for both speakers and amplifier if possible – if you don’t have manuals you may be able to find them online. Not knowing what speakers/amp you are using, or if speakers are powered, I can’t answer. If the speakers are powered, generally you have less to be concerned with, but if unpowered you need to know minimum ohms your amp can handle. Note the pass-through jack is generally wired parallel and reduces impedence.
when doing pass through wiring should i worry about ohms or anything like that?
Great stuff! Thanks for putting this together.
