@m015094 hey, will i still be able to digest a drink with friends if the occasion occurs, even if i’m taking naltrexone?

  2. tonyxjack says:

I am currently on this drug to help my benzodiazepine withdraws, can someone tell me if it stops me from feeling my weed buzz?

  3. m015094 says:

Naltrexone is great. It can be used via the “Sinclair method” to get rid of the craving associated with the alcohol. I highly recommend it to anyone who has had trouble kicking alcoholism.

  4. CREXKILLS says:

I’m currently on this drug, yay

  5. godlessweasel says:

Although I went the AA route for much of my 14 years sober, it’s no longer about whether or not I’m an alcoholic and have a disease. It’s about maintaining the happiness I found through the personal and spiritual growth I experienced outside the rooms of AA. Our thoughts are where we can change as a person and be free from many of the fears and insecurities we have. I very seldom go to meetings anymore, but give AA and The Twelve Steps credit for helping me change my old way of thinking.

  7. donlapcam says:

AA is amazing and it does not have to be religious… you can find sponsors that use mantras and guided meditation…If you are depressed / anxious / suicidal when NOT drinking THIS PROGRAM AA saved my life…

dear ordinaryman, God says it’s never to late…i’m not going to preach to you, or give you bible verses. my dad died of sorosios of the liver. it must b a horrable way to go. sorry about all the things wrong with you, i’ll pray 4 you. please comment, i have so much to say to you.

  9. opendtuning says:

the true fact is though is that most “Alcoholics” die of drinking themselves to death and that is the frightening facts that the doctors don’t tell you!!! whichever method of recovery works for you then get the help before it is too late…

  10. opendtuning says:

also AA believes that the “Alcoholic” only has to stop drinking for one day at a time and not look at the rest of your life,it is a 24 hour program ie,you can manage not to drink for one day…and when the next day comes look at not picking up a drink for that one day…and AA is a “Fellowship” not “Foundation”

  11. opendtuning says:

as far as Iam aware AA sees alcoholism as an illness of mental, physical and spiritual parts of a person and that an “Alcoholic” is someone who cannot stop drinking once they have started…maybe only a certain type of person is an “Alcoholic” and can be confused with just binge drinking or that of a heavy drinker

I’d rather drink myself to death than believe there’s some invisible sky god that keeps tabs on everything i do. …bottoms up.

  15. ordinaryman1982 says:

It’s too late for me, if I stop drinking, I’ll eventually have huge withdraws effects. I have blood in my stool, high blood pressure, my face is all bloated and with a very decadent looking, I have money only to pay my mortgage and junk food

  16. musicbrain5 says:

And it doesn’t always work either. I think moderation is the best way to go, meaning ONE glass of wine or ONE bottle of beer a day.

Both of my parents were alcoholics and many people in my extended family were as well. Cutting alcohol out completely is riskier than just reducing alcohol intake as those people are more likely to give into temptation, therefore returning to alcoholism.

    moderation is fine.

who was talking about coke? wtf?

  24. UberThink says:

Nah, just quit. If you’re a heavy drinker it is dangerous to just stop though, you have to wean yourself off it.

  25. UberThink says:

    No it isn’t.
Don’t replace alcohol with coca cola though, lots of sugar, which is another drug, by definition, it is isolated and extracted.

  26. timabad says:

all alcohol for the rest of their lives is a little extreme…
