September 2 2008 Inclusion and Exclusion |Don Oddy | DonInLondon | Recovery Resource Videos | Alcoholics Anonymous | Addiction is often described as being unable to stop taking a substance or unable to stop a form of behaviour which is harmful. My experience strength and hope is shared here on these videos. I would suggest anyone anywhere with addictive behaviour to find professional medical support and helpful forms of support. The type of support we choose is a personal choice. For me, a combination of professional medical support and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, helps me keep sober on a daily basis. Professional advice on medical matters is paramount in my opinion. I have found fellowship keeps me safe from relapse and has improved my outlook on living simply a day at a time. I do not speak as a professional or speak for anyone else but me. I have found my life improved emotionally, physically and spiritually by keeping safe and to suggestions from professionals and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. I do not represent Alcoholics Anonymous, I share how fellowship helps me keep safe one day at a time. music: “music for airports” Brian Eno: www.enoshop.co.uk my photo link: www.doninchelsea.myphotoalbum.com my other video: link www.doninlondon.myphotoalbum.com email me: don@donymous.org Alcoholics Anonymous Alcoholic Alcoholism Addict Addiction DonInLondon Don Oddy Recovery Rehab

    @doxysmith then stop going.

  2. breda83 says:

Glad to hear it, I am walking away from that cult-think also.

  3. blamethenile says:

@alanwiznitzer I am about as adherent to my religion as ti gets, so your anti-God nonsense is just that. Mike

  4. alanwiznitzer says:

I am no AA zealot, I very rarely attend AA any longer. Yet, your characterization of AA as a cult leads me to believe that there is some anti-god dogma at work here. Some of the points in some of these videos are valid, and one can make a cult of many things, but the wholesale characterization of AA as a cult is over-the-top. One of the blamethenile videos was typical post-modern theology, & very dogmatic. Absolutely no absolutes, absolutely!

    another winner. keep it up

brilliant analysis. You win the idiot of the second award. Collect it at Joe’s ice house.

Too late. He is gone, and won’t be back, at least not with this userid. Name-calling did him in. Mike

    bphutchins — make your point.

  9. dix345 says:

bphutchins — typical blather from an aa zealot.
when bphutchins accuses someone of something, bp hutchins has just done, or is about to do the same thing.

  10. blamethenile says:

    Roger, out.

  11. bphutchins says:

I wasn’t trying to be polite. Ben
    Just letting you know. Ben
    Over. Ben
You’re a tool my friend. It was fun while it lasted.

  12. blamethenile says:

You shouldn’t address people you are talking to in the third person. It’s rude. Mike

  13. bphutchins says:

    Some guy named Mike.

  14. blamethenile says:

    What guy? Mike

  15. bphutchins says:

This guys’ a nutjob conspiracy theorist that uses clips of the pseudointellectual crap movie zeitgeist to rail against the world. What’s funny is that his target is AA. Obviously the guy’s a drunk and hates AA. I personally think his videos are very funny. They try so hard to make AA like something that it isn’t. Like they’re drinking the special kool aid at meetings or something. I find it incredibly entertaining. ACtually it’s made my morning!

  16. JupiterJelly1 says:

AA is pushy when it comes down to the steps,it is’nt life,it’s neither here nor there, let your body heal, guaranteed when your body starts healing you’ll start rationalizing things more and realize steps is a load of poop, thats why AA like to get you in there doing them straight away,it’s about recruitment and believing in god and not you,it’s about believing in god that is’nt there and AA know’s this so they say your god can be anything from a door to a pet

  17. 9faceless says:

I was brain washed into my own prison. I never understood how something could have a hold on me, until I left. My whole life has been dicatated by the 12 step ideal. Now I’m free of it. Another brilliant video, thank you.

  18. blamethenile says:

Hey – if you watch the film Zeitgeist on Google video you’ll know. Jimmy

  19. breakfastclub75 says:

who is the voice speaking @ the end? sounds familiar? thanks.

  20. blamethenile says:

Believe it, because the VA definitely does it. In their homeless shelters, for example, vets with alcohol/drug issues are REQUIRED to attend 12-step meetings, and are immediately kicked out of the shelter for ANY non-compliance. Mike

  21. humyepright says:

To coerce anyone into AA should be a crime. I believe the VA would try to pass off AA as a solution to the issues of its vets. The faith healing of AA: sucks!

  22. blamethenile says:

Since their facts don’t fit the assertions, attacking the questioner is the only effective response. Mike

  23. blamethenile says:

When they see you have spit out the Kool-ade, things will get very silent. Thanks for the post. Mike

  24. blamethenile says:

Thank you. Glad to hear it is all working out for you. Mike

  25. blamethenile says:

Thanks, H. Good to hear from you. Mike
